The Criminal Act

Ivan Vrambout distilled two characters from the novel Crime and Punishment by F.  Dostoyevsky: the Detective and the student Rodion Raskolnikov. The latter kills an old usurer and her sister with an axe, and comes into contact with the Detective later. Both play a strategic game in which the detective tries to seduce Raskolnikov into a confession. This fascinating duel between the two gentlemen is the starting point for an adaptation that came into existence while working with the actors.
