You are escorted into a hotel, far away
from your daily life. It is a faraway
hotel for special people. People, who
in these times are regarded as strange.
Because after the last economic crisis,
everyone wants to pick up the thread
again as soon as possible. Everyone wants
everything to become normal again, there
has to be order and calm. All strange
creatures should keep quiet. All dirt
should be swept away. With Dreft. Lots
of Dreft.
Ivan Vrambout worked with five youngsters
from Genk on a theatre show for Plankenkoorts
(Stage fright), an annually recurring
initiative of Culture Centre Genk. Between
September and November the group met
twice a week and created the show Hotel
zwart-wit (Hotel black-white) based
on discussions, improvisations and writing
exercises.
